A Scientific Steering Committee is set up within the Agency to assist it with scientific matters.
To this end:
1° Each year, it proposes to the College at least one call for research projects relating to the fight against doping and issues an opinion on the projects submitted;
2° It assists the Agency in drawing up its research strategy;
3° The Board of the Agency and the Secretary General may refer to it any matter relating to research for a scientific opinion.
It comprises :
1° Nine members, including the Chairman, appointed by the President of the Agency after consultation with the College;
2° Repealed ;
3° One member appointed by the Minister for Sport;
4° One member appointed by the Minister for Health;
5° One member appointed by the Minister for Research.
Members are chosen for their medical, pharmaceutical and scientific expertise, including in the field of social sciences.
Members are appointed for a renewable three-year term. They carry out their duties free of charge.
The Chairman of the Agency and the Secretary General take part in the work of the Committee as of right.
The Chairman of the Committee may invite any person he considers useful to attend meetings. The Chairman of the Agency may authorise any member of the Agency’s staff to take part in the work of the Committee, by virtue of their duties.
The Scientific Steering Committee meets at least twice a year.
