Article R233-13 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

European Union citizens mentioned in 3° of article L. 233-1 who have established their habitual residence in France for less than five years are issued, at their request, with a residence permit bearing the words “EU/ EEA/ Switzerland Citizen-Student”. Its issue is subject to the applicant producing the following supporting documents:
1° A valid identity document or passport;
2° Proof of enrolment in an educational establishment for the principal purpose of study or, within this framework, vocational training;
3° A certificate of coverage by an insurance company offering the benefits mentioned in articles L. 160-8 and L. 160-9 of the Social Security Code;
4° A declaration or any other equivalent means guaranteeing that he/she has sufficient resources for him/herself and, where applicable, for the members of his/her family.

Les citoyens de l’Union européenne mentionnés au 3° de l’article L. 233-1 qui ont établi leur résidence habituelle en France depuis moins de cinq ans bénéficient, à leur demande, d’un titre de séjour portant la mention ” Citoyen UE/ EEE/ Suisse-Etudiant “.
Ce titre est d’une durée de validité égale à celle restant à courir du cycle d’études dans lequel est inscrit l’étudiant. Sa durée de validité ne peut excéder cinq ans.
Sa délivrance est subordonnée à la production par le demandeur des justificatifs suivants :
1° Un titre d’identité ou un passeport en cours de validité ;
2° Un justificatif de son inscription dans un établissement d’enseignement pour y suivre à titre principal des études ou, dans ce cadre, une formation professionnelle ;
3° Une attestation de prise en charge par une assurance offrant les prestations mentionnées aux articles L. 160-8 et L. 160-9 du code de la sécurité sociale ;
4° Une déclaration ou tout autre moyen équivalent garantissant qu’il dispose de ressources suffisantes pour lui et, le cas échéant, pour les membres de sa famille.
