In the case of a refurbishment project, the diagnostic studies provide the client with information on the condition of the building and the feasibility of the project:
1° To draw up an inventory of fixtures and fittings;
2° To carry out a technical analysis of the strength of the structure and the technical equipment;
3° To enable a functional programme for using the structure to be drawn up;
4° To propose, where appropriate, methods of repair or reinforcement, together with timescales for completion and implementation.
The project manager may recommend additional studies to investigate existing structures.
