Article R3115-29 of the French Public Health Code

A health inspection certificate or a health inspection exemption certificate for a vessel is issued on the basis of an inspection, the details of which are set out in an order issued by the ministers responsible for health and transport.

These certificates are valid for six months.

The health inspection certificate is issued if the inspector finds signs of infection and contamination requiring corrective measures.

The health inspection exemption certificate is issued if the inspector finds no signs of infection or contamination requiring corrective measures.

Vessels with a Health Survey Exemption Certificate less than six months old are exempt from inspection unless a source of infection or contamination has been reported following the previous inspection.

Un certificat de contrôle sanitaire ou un certificat d’exemption de contrôle sanitaire d’un navire est délivré au vu d’une inspection dont les modalités sont fixées par arrêté pris par les ministres chargés de la santé et des transports.


Ces certificats sont valables six mois.


Le certificat de contrôle sanitaire est délivré si l’inspecteur constate des signes d’infection et de contamination exigeant des mesures correctives.


Le certificat d’exemption de contrôle sanitaire est délivré si l’inspecteur ne constate pas de signes d’infection ou de contamination exigeant des mesures correctives.


Les navires qui disposent d’un certificat d’exemption de contrôle sanitaire datant de moins de six mois sont dispensés d’inspection, à moins qu’une source d’infection ou de contamination n’ait été signalée à la suite de l’inspection précédente.
