Article R3115-37 of the French Public Health Code

Twenty-four hours before entering one of the ports listed in the order referred to in article R. 3115-6, the master of a vessel with a gross tonnage of 500 Universal Measurement System (UMS) or more must send the harbour master’s office in which he is calling his health inspection certificate or a health inspection exemption certificate.

In the event of a public health emergency, the Prefect shall extend the provisions of the first paragraph to all ships, after obtaining the opinion of the Director General of the Regional Health Agency.

Vingt-quatre heures avant son entrée dans l’un des ports figurant sur l’arrêté mentionné à l’article R. 3115-6, le capitaine d’un navire d’une jauge brute égale ou supérieure à 500 Universal Measurement System (UMS) transmet à la capitainerie dans lequel il fait escale son certificat de contrôle sanitaire ou un certificat d’exemption de contrôle sanitaire.


En cas d’urgence de santé publique, le préfet étend les dispositions du premier alinéa à l’ensemble des navires, après avis du directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé.
