Article R3132-11 of the French Labour Code

The daily working time of employees assigned to stand-in shifts may be up to twelve hours when the period during which such shifts are used does not exceed forty-eight consecutive hours.
When this period exceeds forty-eight hours, the working day may not exceed ten hours.

La durée quotidienne du travail des salariés affectés aux équipes de suppléance peut atteindre douze heures lorsque la durée de la période de recours à ces équipes n’excède pas quarante-huit heures consécutives.
Lorsque cette durée est supérieure à quarante-huit heures, la journée de travail ne peut excéder dix heures.
