Article R3512-19 of the French Public Health Code

I.-The outer packaging of the unit packet and the outer packaging of cigarettes or roll-your-own tobacco is clear, transparent and colourless.

II-There is no marking on the outer packaging referred to in I. Only the following may be affixed:

1° A barcode, the characteristics of which are laid down by order of the Minister for Health;

2° A black square or rectangle intended to cover the barcode appearing on the packaging units included in the overpack.

III – The overpack may be fitted with a tear-off strip, the characteristics of which are defined by order of the Minister for Health.

Article R3512-19

I.-Le suremballage de l’unité de conditionnement et de l’emballage extérieur de cigarettes ou de tabac à rouler est clair, transparent et non coloré.

II.-Le suremballage mentionné au I est dépourvu de tout marquage. Seuls peuvent y être apposés :

1° Un code-barres dont les caractéristiques sont fixées par arrêté du ministre chargé de la santé ;

2° Un carré ou un rectangle noir destiné à couvrir le code-barres figurant sur les unités de conditionnement incluses dans le suremballage.

III.-Le suremballage peut être doté d’une bandelette d’arrachage dont les caractéristiques sont définies par arrêté du ministre chargé de la santé.
