The members of the Ordinary Council are elected for a term of six years, half of which may be renewed every three years.
The term of office of the members of the Ordinary Council and of the Disciplinary Boards ends on the date on which the results of the election to renew their seats are announced.
Outgoing members of the Disciplinary Councils or Boards, whether full or alternate, may be re-elected.
An alternate member of a Disciplinary Board or Disciplinary Chamber whose term of office has not expired may stand for re-election to the same body without first having to resign.
