Dental surgery students who are not interns may be authorised to practise dentistry under the conditions laid down in article L. 4141-4, for a period running from the date of obtaining the certificate of clinical and therapeutic synthesis and validation of the third year of the second cycle of odontological studies until the end of the calendar year following validation of the sixth year of studies.
Students who are interns may be authorised to practise dentistry under the conditions laid down in article L. 4141-4, until the end of the calendar year following that in which they obtained the certificate of advanced studies in dental surgery.
Only interns who have passed the examination at the end of the first year of specialisation may be authorised to practise dentistry as a substitute or assistant to a qualified specialist dental surgeon.
The periods during which dental surgery students may be authorised to carry out replacements are extended:
1° By a period equal to that of the national service completed by the persons concerned following validation of the sixth year of studies or following the award of the certificate of advanced studies in dental surgery ;
2° For a period of one year for each live-born child brought into the world or adopted by the persons concerned following validation of the sixth year of studies or following receipt of the attestation of advanced studies in dental surgery.
