Article R4214-28 of the French Labour Code

An order by the ministers responsible for labour, agriculture and construction sets out the implementation procedures for ensuring accessibility to workplaces, in particular with regard to horizontal and vertical circulation, doors and internal locks, floor and wall coverings, lighting and information systems, and car parking.

This order specifies the characteristics of safe waiting areas and their equivalents, and in particular the rules governing their location, the determination of their capacity, their equipment and the technical specifications they must meet in order to ensure the protection provided for in the second paragraph of article R. 4216-2-1.

Un arrêté des ministres chargés du travail, de l’agriculture et de la construction détermine les modalités d’application propres à assurer l’accessibilité des lieux de travail en ce qui concerne, notamment, les circulations horizontales et verticales, les portes et les sas intérieurs, les revêtements des sols et des parois, les dispositifs d’éclairage et d’information, le stationnement automobile.

Cet arrêté précise les caractéristiques des espaces d’attente sécurisés et de leurs équivalents, et notamment les règles qui président à leur implantation, à la détermination de leur capacité d’accueil, à leur équipement ainsi que les spécifications techniques auxquelles ils doivent satisfaire en vue d’assurer la protection prévue au deuxième alinéa de l’article R. 4216-2-1.
