The committee examines the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired during the initial training, professional experience and lifelong learning of the person concerned, in accordance with the procedures set out in article R. 4111-17.
The purpose of the adaptation period referred to in this article is to enable the persons concerned to acquire the skills needed to practise the profession. It is carried out under the responsibility of a pharmacist or medical biologist, and may be accompanied by optional additional theoretical training. The duration of the adaptation period may not exceed three years.
In order to complete the adaptation training period, candidates for authorisation to practise are assigned by decision of the Director General of the National Management Centre, on behalf of the Minister for Health, to a post in an approved host structure, on the basis of a commitment to host which must be attached to the application for authorisation. An order by the Minister for Health sets out the composition of the application and the model for the commitment to host. If the applicant is unable to submit such a commitment, the Director General of the Centre national de gestion will propose one or more host structures.
In the event that the candidate carries out his training period in a private establishment of collective interest or a private establishment, he is assigned to the university hospital centre of the subdivision in which this establishment is located. He/she is made available by means of an agreement.
The candidate’s assignment is decided by an order of the Director General of the National Management Centre published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
