Article R424-9 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

When another Member State asks France whether a foreign national who already holds a residence permit bearing the words “long-term resident-EU” provided for in article L. 424-14 remains under the protection of the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons, the reply is sent by the prefect who issued the permit, within a maximum of one month following receipt of the application.

Lorsqu’un autre Etat membre demande à la France si un étranger, déjà titulaire de la carte de résident portant la mention ” résident de longue durée-UE ” prévue à l’article L. 424-14 demeure sous la protection de l’Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides, la réponse est adressée par le préfet qui a délivré la carte, dans le délai maximal d’un mois suivant la réception de la demande.
