Article R4321-59 of the French Public Health Code

Within the limits set by the law, the masseur-physiotherapist is free to take whatever action he considers most appropriate in the circumstances. Without neglecting his duty of moral support, he limits his actions to what is necessary for the quality, safety and effectiveness of the care. He shall do the same for his prescriptions, in accordance with article L. 4321-1. He shall take into account the advantages, disadvantages and consequences of the various possible choices.

Dans les limites fixées par la loi, le masseur-kinésithérapeute est libre de ses actes qui sont ceux qu’il estime les plus appropriés en la circonstance. Sans négliger son devoir d’accompagnement moral, il limite ses actes à ce qui est nécessaire à la qualité, à la sécurité et à l’efficacité des soins. Il agit de même pour ses prescriptions, conformément à l’article L. 4321-1. Il prend en compte les avantages, les inconvénients et les conséquences des différents choix possibles.
