Article R4323-66 of the French Labour Code

All measures shall be taken to ensure that the performance of a particular job does not result in the temporary removal of collective protection devices to prevent falls.
If such removal is necessary, the work may not be undertaken and carried out without the prior adoption of effective compensatory safety measures.
After this particular work has been interrupted or completed, collective safeguards shall be put in place to prevent falls, ensuring an equivalent level of safety.

Article R4323-66
