Article R433-6 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Subject to articles L. 421-2 and L. 421-6, a foreign national applying for the issue of a temporary or multi-annual residence permit on a basis other than that for which he/she was issued the residence document of which he/she is the holder must submit, in support of his/her application, the documents required for the issue of the temporary or multi-annual residence permit corresponding to the new reason for residence invoked and proving that he/she meets the conditions required for these, as well as, where applicable, the specific documents required in accordance with the list set by order annexed to this code.

Article R433-6

Sous réserve des articles L. 421-2 et L. 421-6, l’étranger qui sollicite la délivrance d’une carte de séjour temporaire ou pluriannuelle sur un autre fondement que celui au titre duquel lui a été délivré le document de séjour dont il est titulaire présente à l’appui de sa demande les pièces prévues pour la délivrance de la carte de séjour temporaire ou pluriannuelle correspondant au nouveau motif de séjour invoqué et justifiant qu’il satisfait aux conditions requises pour celles-ci ainsi, le cas échéant, que les pièces particulières requises conformément à la liste fixée par arrêté annexé au présent code.
