Article R433-6 of the French Code of civil enforcement procedures

Goods with no market value are deemed to have been abandoned, with the exception of personal papers and documents, which are placed in a sealed envelope and kept for two years by the bailiff.

Notice of this is given to the person being evicted, under the conditions set out in the last paragraph of article R. 433-5.

On expiry of the period provided for in the first paragraph, the bailiff destroys the documents kept and draws up a report mentioning the official documents and banking instruments that have been destroyed.

Article R433-6

Les biens n’ayant aucune valeur marchande sont réputés abandonnés, à l’exception des papiers et documents de nature personnelle qui sont placés sous enveloppe scellée et conservés pendant deux ans par l’huissier de justice.

Avis en est donné à la personne expulsée, dans les conditions prévues au dernier alinéa de l’article R. 433-5.

A l’expiration du délai prévu au premier alinéa, l’huissier de justice détruit les documents conservés et dresse un procès-verbal qui fait mention des documents officiels et des instruments bancaires qui ont été détruits.
