The risk posed by a hazardous chemical agent to the health and safety of workers must be eliminated.
Where it is impossible to eliminate the risk, it shall be reduced to a minimum by substituting a hazardous chemical agent with another chemical agent or by using a non-hazardous or less hazardous process.

Le risque que présente un agent chimique dangereux pour la santé et la sécurité des travailleurs doit être supprimé.
Lorsque la suppression de ce risque est impossible, ce dernier est réduit au minimum par la substitution d’un agent chimique dangereux par un autre agent chimique ou par un procédé non dangereux ou moins dangereux.
