Article R4412-66 of the French Labour Code

Where the use of an agent that is carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction is likely to lead to exposure, the employer shall reduce the use of that agent in the workplace, in particular by replacing it, as far as is technically possible, with a substance, preparation or process which, under its conditions of use, is not dangerous or is less dangerous to the health or safety of workers.
The employer records the results of his investigations in the single risk assessment document.

Lorsque l’utilisation d’un agent cancérogène, mutagène ou toxique pour la reproduction est susceptible de conduire à une exposition, l’employeur réduit l’utilisation de cet agent sur le lieu de travail, notamment en le remplaçant, dans la mesure où cela est techniquement possible, par une substance, une préparation ou un procédé qui, dans ses conditions d’emploi, n’est pas ou est moins dangereux pour la santé ou la sécurité des travailleurs.
L’employeur consigne le résultat de ses investigations dans le document unique d’évaluation des risques.
