Article R4433-36 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The delegate facilitates the coordination of State and local authority actions carried out under the heading of regional cooperation in the Indian Ocean zone.

He contributes to the dissemination of information relating to actions carried out in the zone. It draws up an annual report for the attention of the ministers, prefects, presidents of the departmental councils concerned and the president of the Réunion regional council, on the assessment and evaluation of regional cooperation initiatives involving Réunion and Mayotte and makes any proposals aimed at developing these initiatives.

The departmental councils and the presidents of the regional councils of Réunion and Mayotte are responsible for drawing up the report.

Le délégué facilite la coordination des actions de l’Etat et des collectivités territoriales menées au titre de la coopération régionale dans la zone de l’océan Indien.

Il contribue à la diffusion de l’information relative aux actions menées dans la zone. Il établit, à l’attention des ministres, des préfets, des présidents des conseils départementaux concernés et du président du conseil régional de la Réunion, un rapport annuel sur le bilan et l’évaluation des actions de coopération régionale intéressant la Réunion et Mayotte et fait toutes propositions tendant à développer celles-ci.
