Article R4534-105 of the French Labour Code

The design of shoring with a height of more than six metres is justified by a calculation note and its construction is carried out in accordance with an assembly plan drawn up in advance, except in cases of urgency or impossibility. The calculation note and assembly plan must be kept on site.
These provisions do not apply to shoring used for underground works.

La conception des étaiements d’une hauteur de plus de six mètres est justifiée par une note de calcul et leur construction réalisée conformément à un plan de montage préalablement établi, sauf en cas d’urgence ou d’impossibilité. La note de calcul et le plan de montage sont conservés sur le chantier.
Ces dispositions ne sont pas applicables aux étaiements mis en œuvre pour l’exécution des travaux souterrains.
