Article R4544-10 of the French Labour Code

A worker is authorised within the limits of the duties entrusted to him. The authorisation, issued by the employer, specifies the nature of the operations that the worker is authorised to carry out.

Before issuing the authorisation, the employer must ensure that the worker has received theoretical and practical training that provides him with knowledge of the risks associated with electricity and the measures to be taken to intervene safely when carrying out the operations entrusted to him.

The employer issues, maintains or renews the authorisation in accordance with the procedures contained in the standards referred to in Article R. 4544-3.

The employer shall provide each worker with a book of instructions drawn up on the basis of the relevant provisions of these standards, supplemented, where appropriate, by safety instructions specific to the work performed.

Any worker authorised under this article shall benefit from the reinforced individual monitoring provided for in articles R. 4624-22 to R. 4624-28 in application of II of article R. 4624-23.

Un travailleur est habilité dans les limites des attributions qui lui sont confiées. L’habilitation, délivrée par l’employeur, spécifie la nature des opérations qu’il est autorisé à effectuer.

Avant de délivrer l’habilitation, l’employeur s’assure que le travailleur a reçu la formation théorique et pratique qui lui confère la connaissance des risques liés à l’électricité et des mesures à prendre pour intervenir en sécurité lors de l’exécution des opérations qui lui sont confiées.

L’employeur délivre, maintient ou renouvelle l’habilitation selon les modalités contenues dans les normes mentionnées à l’article R. 4544-3.

L’employeur remet à chaque travailleur un carnet de prescriptions établi sur la base des prescriptions pertinentes de ces normes, complété, le cas échéant, par des instructions de sécurité particulières au travail effectué.

Tout travailleur habilité au titre du présent article bénéficie d’un suivi individuel renforcé prévu aux articles R. 4624-22 à R. 4624-28 en application du II de l’article R. 4624-23.
