Article R4623-17 of the French Labour Code

In the autonomous occupational health and prevention departments, the occupational physicians’ representatives are elected on the basis of one member and one alternate for every eight physicians, up to a maximum of four members and four alternates.

In inter-company services, they are elected at the rate of one member and one alternate per sector, up to a maximum of four members and four alternates.

Delegates are elected for a three-year term.

The employer or the president of the occupational health and safety service organises the election.

Dans les services autonomes de prévention et de santé au travail, les délégués des médecins du travail sont élus à raison d’un titulaire et d’un suppléant pour huit médecins, dans la limite de quatre titulaires et quatre suppléants.

Dans les services interentreprises, ils sont élus à raison d’un titulaire et d’un suppléant par secteur, dans la limite de quatre titulaires et quatre suppléants.

La durée du mandat des délégués est de trois ans.

L’employeur ou le président du service de prévention et de santé au travail organise l’élection.
