Article R4723-3 of the French Labour Code

The Regional Director of Employment and Vocational Training will take a decision within twenty-one days.
If necessary to investigate the complaint, this period may be extended by a further twenty-one days. The employer will be informed by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.

Le directeur régional du travail et de la formation professionnelle prend sa décision dans un délai de vingt et un jours.
Si les nécessités de l’instruction de la réclamation l’exigent, ce délai peut être prolongé d’une nouvelle période de vingt et un jours. L’employeur en est informé par lettre recommandée avec avis de réception.
