Article R48 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The accounting officer of the Directorate General of Public Finance shall proceed with the recovery of the criminal order upon expiry of the period of thirty days from the date of dispatch of the registered letter provided for in Article R. 42, unless an objection is lodged.

Le comptable de la direction générale des finances publiques procède au recouvrement de l’ordonnance pénale à l’expiration du délai de trente jours à compter de la date d’envoi de la lettre recommandée prévue à l’article R. 42, à moins qu’il ne soit fait opposition.
