Article R49-19 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Except in the cases provided for by articles 226-10 and 441-1 of the Criminal Code, for the author of a request for exoneration or a claim falling under the provisions of Article 529-10 of this code, to give inaccurate or erroneous information pursuant to b of 1° of this article is punishable by the fine laid down for fifth-class offences.

Hors les cas prévus par les articles 226-10 et 441-1 du code pénal, le fait, pour l’auteur d’une requête en exonération ou d’une réclamation relevant des dispositions de l’article 529-10 du présent code, de donner, en application du b du 1° de cet article, des renseignements inexacts ou erronés est puni de l’amende prévue pour les contraventions de la cinquième classe.
