The user prepares the medicated feed extemporaneously in accordance with the good practices mentioned in article R. 5143-1.
Medicated feed may only be prepared extemporaneously from a single medicated premix. However, when the veterinarian’s prescription expressly so provides, a medicated feed may be prepared extemporaneously from more than one medicated premix when no appropriate medicated premix is available, within a timeframe compatible with therapeutic requirements, for the disease to be treated or prevented in the species in question.
The following information must be recorded by the user:
1° The name and quantity of each premix received, the batch number, the name and address of the supplier and the date of receipt ;
2° The nature and quantity of the products used for each medicated feed prepared;
3° The nature and quantity of the medicated feed prepared and the date of the corresponding extemporaneous preparations.
Immediately after each extemporaneous preparation, this information is recorded by an appropriate system allowing immediate printing at the request of the control authorities and not allowing any modification of the data after validation of their recording.
The records and the paper copies of these records for periods of no more than one month are kept for a period of five years and are made available to the supervisory authorities during this period.
