Article R522-7 of the French Consumer Code

The administrative authority referred to in Article L. 531-6 is:

the prefect of the department, or in Paris, the prefect of police, for offences and breaches observed by an agent placed under his authority;

the prefect of the region for offences and breaches observed by an agent placed under his authority;

the minister in charge of the economy for offences and breaches observed by an agent belonging to a service with national competence.

These administrative authorities may delegate their signatures to category A officials under their authority.

Article R522-7

L’autorité administrative mentionnée à l’article L. 531-6 est :

-le préfet du département, ou à Paris, le préfet de police, pour les infractions et manquements constatés par un agent placé sous son autorité ;

-le préfet de région pour les infractions et manquements constatés par un agent placé sous son autorité ;

-le ministre chargé de l’économie pour les infractions et manquements constatés par un agent appartenant à un service à compétence nationale.

Ces autorités administratives peuvent déléguer leurs signatures aux fonctionnaires de catégorie A placés sous leur autorité.
