Article R5221-27 of the French Labour Code

The declaration by name provided for in article L. 5221-9 is sent by the employer to the prefect of the département in which the employing establishment has its registered office or the individual employer resides at least two working days before the effective date of recruitment. This formality is carried out by any means that allows the receipt of the declaration to be dated with certainty.

La déclaration nominative préalable prévue à l’article L. 5221-9 est adressée par l’employeur au préfet du département dans lequel l’établissement employeur a son siège ou le particulier employeur sa résidence au moins deux jours ouvrables avant la date d’effet de l’embauche. Cette formalité est accomplie par tout moyen permettant de donner date certaine à la réception de la déclaration.
