Article R552-9 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The objection of the departmental prefect or, in Paris, the police prefect, as provided for in article L. 552-10, must be made within forty-eight hours of the date of the admission decision.
To this end, it has access to the automated processing of data managed by the French Office for Immigration and Integration concerning entries and exits in accommodation facilities for asylum seekers located in the department.

L’opposition du préfet de département ou, à Paris, du préfet de police, prévue à l’article L. 552-10, doit intervenir dans un délai de quarante-huit heures à partir de la date de la décision d’admission.
A cet effet, il a accès au traitement automatisé des données géré par l’Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration concernant les entrées et sorties dans les lieux d’hébergement pour demandeurs d’asile situés dans le département.
