Article R6142-10 of the French Public Health Code

When, in a hospital department of a university centre, teaching and research duties are fully performed and diagnostic and care duties cannot be fully performed by members of the teaching and hospital staff, hospital practitioners who are not subject to the status provided for in article L. 6151-1 may be called upon.

Lorsque dans un service hospitalier d’un centre universitaire, les tâches d’enseignement et de recherche étant entièrement assurées, les tâches de diagnostic et de soins ne peuvent être assurées entièrement par les membres du personnel enseignant et hospitalier, il peut être fait appel à des praticiens hospitaliers qui ne sont pas soumis au statut prévu à l’article L. 6151-1.
