Article R6147-81 of the French Public Health Code

If, before the expiry of his term of office, one of the full members is no longer able, for whatever reason, to carry out his duties, his alternate is appointed in his place until the renewal of the establishment’s Technical Committee.

A new substitute is appointed within one month by the institution’s Board of Directors or by the trade union organisation concerned; in the case provided for in the second paragraph of Article R. 6147-19, a new substitute is elected in accordance with the procedures provided for in that paragraph.

Si, avant l’expiration de son mandat, l’un des membres titulaires n’est plus à même, pour quelque cause que ce soit, d’exercer ses fonctions, son suppléant est nommé titulaire à sa place jusqu’au renouvellement du comité technique d’établissement.

Un nouveau suppléant est désigné dans le délai d’un mois par le conseil d’administration de l’établissement ou par l’organisation syndicale intéressée ; dans le cas prévu au deuxième alinéa de l’article R. 6147-19, un nouveau suppléant est élu selon les modalités prévues par cet alinéa.
