Article R7111-12 of the French Labour Code

The Professional Journalists Identity Card Committee may cancel a card.
Before doing so, the chairman of the commission summons the holder to appear before it by registered letter. The holder, who may be assisted by counsel, presents his or her explanations. If the holder does not appear, he or she may submit written explanations to the committee.

La commission de la carte d’identité des journalistes professionnels peut annuler une carte.
Au préalable, le président de la commission convoque le titulaire devant celle-ci par lettre recommandée. Ce dernier, qui peut être assisté d’un conseil, présente ses explications. Lorsqu’il ne comparaît pas, il peut faire parvenir à la commission des explications écrites.
