The opposition shall be filed in writing in accordance with the procedures laid down by decision of the Director General of the National Institute of Industrial Property.
It shall include:
1° The identity of the opposing party, together with such particulars as may establish the existence, nature, origin and scope of his rights;
2° The references of the application for registration against which the opposition is lodged, together with an indication of the goods or services to which the opposition relates ;
3° A statement of the grounds on which the opposition is based;
4° Proof of payment of the prescribed fee;
5° Where applicable, except where he is an industrial property attorney or a lawyer, the representative’s authority.
The aforementioned documents and information must be provided within the time limit specified in Article L. 712-4.
However, the statement of grounds referred to in 3° and the documents submitted in support of the information referred to in 1°, 2° and 5° may be provided within an additional period of one month following the expiry of the aforementioned period, under the conditions specified by decision of the Director General of the Institut national de la propriété industrielle, provided that the opponent does not extend the scope of the opposition or invoke other prior rights or other goods or services than those invoked in support of the opposition.
