Article R712-20 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Until the start of technical preparations for registration, the applicant may be authorized, by written request addressed to the Director of the National Institute of Industrial Property, to rectify material errors found in the documents filed.

The Institute may require justification of the reality of the material error to be rectified and the meaning of the correction requested.

Jusqu’au début des préparatifs techniques relatifs à l’enregistrement, le déposant peut être autorisé, sur requête écrite adressée au directeur de l’Institut national de la propriété industrielle, à rectifier les erreurs matérielles relevées dans les pièces déposées.

L’institut peut exiger la justification de la réalité de l’erreur matérielle à rectifier et le sens de la correction demandée.
