Article R721-11 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Any notification is deemed to be in order if it is made:

1° Either to the organisation for the defence and management of the geographical indication mentioned in article L. 721-4;

2° Or to the authorised representative of the legal person mentioned in 1°.

If the legal person to whom the notification is addressed is not domiciled in a Member State of the European Union or in a State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, the notification shall be deemed to be in order if it is made to the last authorised representative that it has appointed with the Institute.

Article R721-11

Toute notification est réputée régulière si elle est faite :

1° Soit à l’organisme de défense et de gestion de l’indication géographique mentionné à l’article L. 721-4 ;

2° Soit au mandataire de la personne morale mentionnée au 1°.

Si la personne morale à qui la notification est adressée n’est pas domiciliée dans un Etat membre de l’Union européenne ou dans un Etat partie à l’accord sur l’Espace économique européen, la notification est réputée régulière si elle est faite au dernier mandataire qu’il a constitué auprès de l’institut.
