Article R743-4 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The application and the documents attached to it are, as soon as they arrive at the registry of the judicial court, made available to the foreign national’s lawyer and to the administrative authority. They may also be consulted there, before the opening of the proceedings, by the foreign national himself, assisted, if necessary, by an interpreter if he does not speak sufficient French.

La requête et les pièces qui y sont jointes sont, dès leur arrivée au greffe du tribunal judiciaire, mises à la disposition de l’avocat de l’étranger et de l’autorité administrative. Elles peuvent également y être consultées, avant l’ouverture des débats, par l’étranger lui-même, assisté, le cas échéant, par un interprète s’il ne parle pas suffisamment la langue française.
