Article R744-31 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

When the representatives of an association intend to exercise their right of access to a detention centre, they shall inform the head of the centre at least twenty-four hours in advance.

Un même lieu de rétention peut recevoir, au plus, la visite de cinq représentants d’associations habilitées par période de vingt-quatre heures.
Lorsque les représentants d’une association entendent exercer leur droit d’accès dans un centre de rétention, ils en informent au moins vingt-quatre heures à l’avance le chef de centre.
Lorsque les représentants d’une association entendent exercer leur droit d’accès dans un local de rétention, ils en informent au moins douze heures à l’avance le responsable du local.
Le responsable du lieu de rétention peut, par une décision motivée, ajourner les visites de représentants d’association pour une durée limitée mentionnée dans la décision.
