The professional training period provided for in 5° of Article L. 822-1-1 is for a period of three years.
It is open to persons who meet the conditions for taking the certificate of aptitude for the duties of statutory auditor pursuant to article R. 822-2. (1)
It is carried out at the premises of a natural person or a company registered on the list provided for in article L. 822-1 and authorised for this purpose. It may also be completed:
1° For a maximum of two years, with a person approved by a Member State of the European Union to carry out statutory audits;
2° For a maximum of one year, with any person other than those carrying out statutory audits in France and in the other Member States of the European Union and offering sufficient guarantees as to the training of trainees.
The successful completion of the traineeship gives rise to the issue of a certificate at the end of the traineeship bearing the assessments of the President of the Regional Council drawn up in the light of the report of the trainee supervisor. When the traineeship has been completed within the jurisdiction of several regional councils or in whole or in part abroad, the president of the competent regional council is designated under conditions laid down by order of the Minister of Justice.
An order of the same minister determines the competent authority within the profession to authorise the trainee to complete all or part of the traineeship abroad or with a person other than those approved to carry out statutory audits, as well as the procedures for completing the traineeship and issuing the attestation of completion of the traineeship.
The terms and conditions of the authorisation to receive trainees are defined by order of the Minister of Justice, acting on a proposal from the compagnie nationale des commissaires aux comptes.
Trainees have a period of six years after the date of issue of the certificate of completion of the training period to obtain the certificate of aptitude for the duties of statutory auditor. After this period, the attestation of completion of training lapses.
Persons who have completed their entire probationary period provided for in 5° of Article L. 822-1-1 but whose attestation of completion of the probationary period has lapsed under the conditions provided for in the previous paragraph shall complete a new probationary period, the duration of which shall be one year.
