Section 1: Transport by sea.

The master of a ship arriving in the maritime zone of the Customs radius shall, at the first requisition : a) submit the original of the manifest for endorsement ne varietur by the Customs officers who come on board ; b) give them a copy of the manifest.

Except in duly justified cases of force majeure, ships may only dock in ports where there is a customs office.

On entering the port, the captain must present the logbook to the customs officers for approval.

Within twenty-four hours of the vessel’s arrival in port, the master must lodge at the customs office : a) as a summary declaration : – the cargo manifest, with an authentic translation if necessary ; – special manifests for ship’s stores and second-hand goods belonging to members of the crew; b) the charter-parties or bills of lading, acts of nationality and any other documents which may be required by…

1. Vessels may only be unloaded in ports where customs offices are established. 2. No goods may be unloaded or transhipped without the written authorisation of the customs officers and in their presence. Unloading and transhipment must take place during the hours and under the conditions laid down by orders issued by the Director General of Customs and Excise.

The captains of naval vessels are required to complete all the formalities to which the captains of merchant ships are subject on entry.
