Section 4: Cross-country skiing and non-motorised snow sports other than downhill skiing

Article L342-27 of the French Tourism Code

A departmental, interdepartmental or regional association for the promotion of cross-country skiing and non-motorised snow sports other than downhill skiing may be set up in mountain departments on the proposal of the departmental council(s) or regional council concerned. The associations created in application of the first paragraph may form a national association in order to coordinate their activities.

Article L342-28 of the French Tourism Code

The association mentioned in the first paragraph of article L. 342-27 may include the regions and départements concerned, the communes or associations of communes whose territory supports or may support facilities, installations or runs for cross-country skiing and non-motorised snow sports other than downhill skiing, the managers of these facilities and, where appropriate, at their request, associations representing users.
