If the police commissioner is unable to act, the public prosecutor shall appoint, for a full year, one or more replacements from among the commissioners, commanders or captains of police residing within the jurisdiction of the judicial court. .

If there are several police commissioners at the place where the police court sits, the public prosecutor shall designate the one who shall perform the functions of the public prosecutor.

If there is no police commissioner at the place where the police court sits, the public prosecutor shall designate, to exercise the functions of the public prosecutor, a police commissioner or a police commander or captain residing within the jurisdiction of the judicial court or, failing that, of an adjoining judicial court located in the same department.
