Chapter IV: Regions.

As part of the powers conferred on it by article L. 4221-1 of the General Local Authorities Code, the Regional Council may define specific health objectives for the region. It draws up and implements the corresponding regional actions. It informs the State representative in the region and the Director General of the Regional Health Agency of the content of these actions and the resources it devotes to them.

The region may voluntarily contribute to the financing of the investment programme of public, private and community health establishments and, as a priority, that of regional, inter-regional or national establishments. The operations financed as part of the investment programme comply with the objectives of the regional or inter-regional health plan.
