Chapter III: Health protection and the environment.

The High Administrator of the Territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands shall draw up health regulations in order to protect public health. These regulations are based on the public health programme provided for in 1° of article L. 6431-4.

The health regulations provided for in article L. 1523-1 lay down the general rules of hygiene and all other measures designed to protect human health, in particular with regard to : – prevention of communicable diseases ; – supply of water intended for human consumption ; – the evacuation, treatment, elimination and use of waste water and waste; – combating noise pollution and atmospheric pollution; – the preparation, distribution, transport…

The health regulations set out in article L. 1523-1 may be supplemented by special provisions to ensure the protection of public health in the area.

For its application in the territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands, article L. 1311-4 reads as follows: “Art. L. 1311-4 -In the event of an emergency, i.e. an epidemic or other imminent danger to public health, the High Administrator of the Territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands may order the immediate implementation, with all rights reserved, of the measures prescribed by the health regulations applicable in the Territory….

Articles L. 1321-1 , L. 1321-10 and L. 1322-14 are applicable in the territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands, in the version resulting from Order no. 2022-1611 of 22 December 2022.

Chapter III of Title III of Book III is applicable in the territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands subject to the following adaptations: 1° In articles L. 1333-8 and L. 1333-30, the reference to Chapter I of Title V of Book IV of Part IV of the Labour Code shall be replaced by the reference to Article 134 of Law No. 52-1322 of 15 December 1952; 2° Article L….

Article L. 1336-1 is applicable to Wallis and Futuna in the version resulting from Law No. 2016-41 of 26 January 2016.

For its application in the territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands, article L. 1341-1 reads as follows: “Art. L. 1341-1 -The Poison Control Centre provided for by Article L. 6431-3 shall have access to the composition of any mixture in the exercise of its advisory, care or preventive missions with a view to preventing health effects or responding to any medical request for treatment of conditions caused by these…
