For building or civil engineering operations undertaken by municipalities or groups of municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants, the project manager may be entrusted, by delegation from the project owner, with the application of the general principles of prevention provided for in the first paragraph of Article L. 4531-1 as well as the coordination rules provided for in Chapter II.

When several building or civil engineering works have to be carried out at the same time on the same site by several project owners, the latter work together to prevent the risks resulting from the interference of these works.
