Chapter I: Organisation of the activities of health care institutions

The provisions of section 2 of chapter II of title I of book I of this part relating to care provided to prisoners are applicable in Mayotte subject to the adaptations set out in articles R. 6411-2 to R. 6411-4.

A public health establishment in Mayotte provides in-patient and, where applicable, hospital care to prisoners whose condition does not require hospitalisation; under the same conditions, it carries out or arranges for the carrying out of examinations, particularly radiological or laboratory examinations, required for diagnosis. The terms and conditions of the establishment’s involvement are set out in a protocol signed by the Prefect of Mayotte, the Director General of the Indian Ocean Health Agency, the head of the prison and the director of the public health establishment, after consultation with the establishment’s Supervisory Board.
