Section 4: Legal system for acts taken by municipal authorities and contentious actions

Article L2541-25 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The mayor, in an emergency, may, without the prior authorisation of the municipal council, bring and defend possessory actions and perform any legal act necessary to preserve the rights of the municipality or to avoid the consequences resulting from the expiry of time limits.
