The vocational certificate is obtained by accumulation of four units defined by order of the Minister for Youth and Sport, of which : – two are cross-disciplinary, whatever the speciality ; – two are specific to the specialisation, one of which is specific to a possible option.

The vocational diploma in youth, popular education and sport is prepared : 1° Either through initial training, including apprenticeship ; 2° Or through continuing education. In all cases, on entry to the training course, the individualised training pathway for people admitted to prepare for the vocational certificate in youth, popular education and sport must be preceded by a positioning assessment to identify the skills they have already acquired.

Persons are admitted to prepare, by means of initial training, for the vocational diploma in youth, popular education and sport covered by article L. 212-1, in an accredited training body mentioned in article R. 212-10-8, if they : 1° Submit their application via the national pre-registration procedure mentioned in the second paragraph of I of article L. 612-3 of the Education Code ; 2° Hold the baccalaureate on entry to…

There will be two types of assessment, involving 1° The production of a personal written document followed by an interview ; 2° One or two tests, at least one of which consists of a work situation. Each situation for the assessment leading to a certificate enables the specific units referred to in article D. 212-25 to be assessed separately.

The vocational diploma is awarded by the rector of the academic region: -alone, in the case of a speciality created by the ministers responsible for youth and sport ; -jointly with the competent authorities of the ministries concerned in the case of a joint creation of the speciality.
