Paragraph 2-1: Establishing the biological profile of athletes falling within the scope of Article L. 230-3

The provisions of this paragraph apply to any athlete within the meaning of article L. 230-3 of the present code when the authority prescribing a urine or blood sample specifies that it is likely to be taken into account for the establishment of the biological profile instituted by article L. 232-12-1.

Proof of the use of prohibited substances or methods appearing on the list referred to in the last paragraph of article L. 232-9 may only be provided, by means of the biological profile, in compliance with the provisions of this paragraph.

The results of urine or blood tests for the purposes set out in the first paragraph of article L. 232-12-1 are sent, in anonymous form, to an athlete passport management unit approved by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

The athlete passport management unit processes the biological data brought to its attention by integrating it into a predictive statistics algorithm. The haematological and steroid modules of an athlete’s biological profile are established in accordance with the International Standards for Results Management Requirements and Procedures for the Athlete Biological Passport defined by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
