Article L6222-15 of the French Labour Code

Any young worker may enter into successive apprenticeship contracts to prepare for diplomas or titles certifying different qualifications. If the apprentice has already signed two successive contracts at the same level, he must obtain authorisation from the director of the last apprentice training centre he attended to sign a third apprenticeship contract at the same level. Article L6222-16 of the French Labour Code

If the apprenticeship contract is followed by the signing of an open-ended employment contract, a fixed-term contract or a temporary employment contract with the same company, no trial period may be imposed, unless otherwise stipulated in the collective bargaining agreement. The duration of the apprenticeship contract is taken into account when calculating the employee’s pay and seniority.
