Skin-invasive tattooing may only be carried out using tattooing products that comply with the provisions of Articles L. 513-10-1 to L. 513-10-10. It is forbidden to perform the techniques mentioned in articles R. 1311-1 and R. 1311-6 on a minor without the written consent of a person with parental authority or their guardian. Persons carrying out these practices on a minor must be able, for a period of three years, to present proof of this consent to the supervisory authorities mentioned in article L. 1312-1.

Persons performing the techniques referred to in articles R. 1311-1 and R. 1311-6 shall inform their customers, before they undergo these techniques, of the risks to which they are exposed and, after these techniques have been performed, of the precautions to be taken. The provisions of this chapter do not apply to healthcare professionals when they perform acts of care. For these activities, they remain governed by the legislative and regulatory provisions applicable to them.
